The day started with a Solemn Eucharistic Celebration for the Centennial Jubilee of the Carmelite Presence in the Philippines. It was presided by Most Rev. Bishop Jose Romeo Lazo and some clergy from the Archdiocese of Jaro and from the Carmelite Fathers. Apart from the Carmelite nuns and the tertiaries, there were religious men/women and lay who graced the event. One of the highlights is the declaration of Jaro Carmel as a Pilgrimage Site from November 9, 2022 to November 9, 2024. As such, all are invited to Venerate the Cross (main entrance of Jaro Carmel), to pray one Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be for His Holiness Pope Francis' intentions, and have fulfilled the other conditions to receive Partial Indulgence.

 

All are invited to pray before the Pilgrim Cross for enlightenment, guidance, protection, healing and, God willing, for miracles. An exhibit about our life is nearby for those who would like to know about our history, life and other Carmelite houses in the Philippines.
